Ok great.

Next question, Do you guys think a 120/90 r16 rear tire would be alright?

Should be a little shorter, but overall, fine, right? There would be less sidewall flex in turns to.

My A model has the 18 inch rear and that is the size I put on it. Your LTD is meant to have thefatter tire. It may look odd, but it will run fine.

As R mentioned, I assumed the 16-inch rear came with something fatter than 120. I use 120 ( or sometimes 130) on my gpz's with 18-inch rears. Maybe the 16-inch tires just looked fatter because they had a smaller diameter? I doubt it, because then their outside diameter would be smaller (assuming 90 profile), and wouldn't be a good match with the 19-inch front.

That would be too short. Stay with the 130/90-16 (aka MT90-16). If you want it to handle well, buy a good street tire with stiffer sidewalls. A 90/90-19 in the front would be almost the same height as the 130/90-16, giving the bike more of the 'cafe' look you want instead of the chopper look.

Looking online at multiple tire size conversion charts, the stock Dunlop mu90s16 looks like it converts to a metric size 130/90r16.

I can't find any in that size that I like. With it being a 16" my choices are rather limited.
I was really hoping that a Bridgestone 120/90r16 would work.

yes, but I was really hoping to find something with a more aggressive dual-sport style tread pattern.

I had actually been hoping to find a set of Shinkos that I could use since their prices and quality seem pretty on point.

Living in Memphis, TN I've come to really like all terrain tires on our gravel covered, greasy roads.

The ones I'm looking at are Bridgestone Trail Wings, models tw39 and tw40.

Ok, so I finally have a little cash to throw at this bike.
I just got all the small bits I needed; gauge bracket and console, inner fender, foot pegs, grips, etc.

I decided to give up on the dual sport tires for now. I guess I'll wait until I do the rim swap for the 650 wheels and rear disc.

For now I'm going with the Shinko 230 series. 100/90s19 and 130/90s16
You just can't beat $130 for a set of tires.

I'll have to go to my local county clerk's office and get it retitled and tagged next week sometime. Then we'll finally be back in the road!!!

Back into the build, now it's a tagged, titled, daily driven bike!

I have the new Shinko's mounted and some more minor bits and pieces cleaned up.
I have the cowl for the seat cut, just need to get it welded on and upholstered.
Just ordered some side covers and new exhaust studs, since mine are trashed.

Still figuring out what color to paint it. Thinking a really dark gloss British racing green, or Olive green.
