Your on the right track keep it up. Building a harness from scratch is definitely a lot of work. Take your time with it and it will be worth it. I have to do the same thing on my bike.

Sorry your still getting negative feedback from immature members. Don't let them drag you down!

Keep up the good work. Nobody has to like it but you. I can honestly say that when I buy a motorcycle resale value is probably the last thing on my mind. BUILD IT LIKE YOU WANT IT AND RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!

Really peter1968? I too was not happy about him tearing up an ELR but it is his bike and he can do whatever he wishes with it. At least he is following through with his build. Keep your nasty comments to yourself.

It's time for a quick update on the caliper paint job.

As I belive one of you mentioned the paint job on my calipers is slightly different than the paint job on my wheels. Painting is not my main business so i kind of thought that gold was gold :P and didn't really consider that there is a bunch of variations of gold paint. Therefore the calipers painted gold tends to be a little more towards bronze compared to the wheels. All in all i think it will work out OK:

The color looks very good. :cheer:

However, except for silicone based brake fluid, the common DOT versions quickly self-destroy paint on the caliper. :(

Powder-coat is more resistant, but may also discolor somewhat from exposure to brake fluid,

Wondering about success with using Gun-Kote to color a caliper, and its resistance to brake fluid.

Good Fortune! :)

patton i believe gun-kote is impervious to brake fluid after curing.

I have painted two sets of calipers with gun kote and got brake fluid all over them, It is indeed impervious to brake fluid, and its super tough. Its all Im ever going to use on brakes in the future.

The POR 15 engine paint is also impervious to brake fluid and it's much cheaper. They offer a nice gold.
