We'll machine some of the inner round stock down so it opens that area up a little more for a socket :) All in the head scratching, one step at a time :)

Alright, so some progress was made today. I swung by the shop and took measures into my own hands- my welder is busy working on a guitar right now so he has limited play time.

I started off by clamping the mounts down to the frame to see if I would have to mill any material off the mounts to fit the socket in. Luckily enough, we're good to go.

After lining things up and making sure I felt like this would be a good foot placement, I had the pegs tacked into place to do a dry run for the foot positioning. It actually feels really good where they're at.

I also got some work done on my passenger rest mounts, those should be on by early next week. I'll have pictures up with the work that gets done. I took 3/8ths plate steel and cut it down to a rough size, Clamped the mount in place, spun it until I had the right angle to rest the foot on, then traced the mount into the steel. The next step will be to cut the mount down and tack it in to the frame and see how things feel with a passenger on.
By the end of next week, I'm hoping to have my gauge mount on, the passenger pegs on, and the steering stops done.

She's getting there! I have a break tomorrow during the day that I'm hoping to get the passenger peg mount design fully finished on and maybe cut one/drill and tap it. After that, it's steering stops, a gauge mount, and a few small welds on the frame to finish stuff up. Then off to powder coating :)

over the last little bit I managed to get a passenger peg mount design thought up, checked angles of the mounts, and fabbed/had them tacked in place. Here's what has happened in this department.

I got a feel for where and what angle I wanted the passenger pegs mounted. I then took my 3/8ths plate steel and made a rough model of what I wanted to do. Cut it down, sanded the edges, and tapped the holes.

Checked to make sure my design was going to line up to the holes and look ok.

Did a quick frame mount check to see how the angle of the mount would look and feel for the passenger. Had the height and angle verified by a "passenger". Everything was ok.

So we tacked the mounts in place, and did a double check for the angle of the pegs when they were on. Everything looks level and at the right height :)

Nice and square to the frame and level to the ground. Another thing to check off on the to do list.

She sure is! I got headlight pot mounts made yesterday too, I just have to get those welded up. Then steering stops, a reservoir mount, and it's off for powder coating!
