No I havnt done any wiring yet. I have to make up a little battery/electronics box. I did get the 636 wiring harness so I can use the original junctions. It should be interesting

I see the mount as wanting to flatten out and spread the frame rails under heavy loading. The triangle gussets don't look like they really gusset anything but I could be wrong. I would make some sort of vertical brace instead.

Later, Doug

The little triangle gussets will help keep it from twisting front to back forth,id take some of the same material and just cap the ends off from side to side should be plenty strong B)

Wireman, that's where I cut the braces off, they have been filled in when the brace went back on.

what do you guys think of velocity stacks? I dont really like the look of pods and theres no way the air box is going back on there. I love the look but since ill be running cv carbs at first, I think they may look stupid. like putting a fake hood scoop on a toyota corolla B) B)

Stick with pods anyday over velocity stacks if youre riding it on the street, about the same affect as riding down a gravel road at 55mph with your mouth wide open! :woohoo:

Even the ones with a screen are that bad? I was thinking about running the stacks that have the screen, and then making some foam inserts. I thought that would be slick. The k&n pods turn black in a month and z1e have some but I've never heard of them

The ones that Z1 sells are Emgo- I run those on my 650. I really like them- they're a nice, small, inexpensive unit. You can clean them, and they don't look dirty like K+N's.
Only downside I've noticed is highway riding- if you're wearing baggy jeans/jeans that flap in the wind, they can starve the outter cyl's if you're hit with a sidewind. Just have to lean your knees out a little to avoid that.
Otherwise, I'd say they're a good buy.

I believe that it's gularri I know I spelled that wrong. I've seen only a few of that seat on ebay. those are not cheap. I'm trying to make a new one that will look like that too.
