I agree paint won't last, don't know if powder coating would work.

Yes! could re-anodize them but would have to strip out the center which means new buttons and more importantly more £££ etc

Think the bare alu is the way to go for now to keep things rolling and see what happens later,
The intricate shape of the centers will be hard to keep clean which is my main concern but it is no big job to pull the wheel later and change them.

Done the deed and stripped the discs.

New tyres on also and one step closer to removing the wooden stand

Looking very sharp Zed. Interesting use for a clutch cover. Is your plan to leave the oil cooler as it is or maybe add a small fairing? Might work well with the new trimmed ignition cover. Is the swing-arm pivot point on this frame in exactly the same place as it would be in a KZ frame??

that xjr1200 fender is the closest thing to a stock KZ, in a 17" that ive seen.
Very nice. B)
i used a zx6 and massaged it to make it look stockish.

Had to use something to stop the wheel turning so the muddy didn't fall off

Going for the naked racer look (The bike not me  )so no fairing.
But maybe a bellypan?

Pivot is closer to the engine by 5mm (hence my previous swingarm pivot mod) but is still in the correct plane.

Thanks.
I also used an XJR one on the Drouin so going for a similar look but maybe rotate it forward a bit more.

Bit more progress.
Painted the rear caliper mount and got it all finished and fitted .

This allowed me to fit the footrests, hoses and bleed the brake.
Bulky reservoir will probably be replaced by a short length of clear hose.

Other side got new sprocket studs and nuts and is ready for chain fitment.

Front end got the bars fitted and controls . R1 starter/kill switch now serves as Horn and kill.

The bars were stripped of the gunmetal and repainted black.

All this means i can junk the wooden stand and it's now capable of standing on it's own two wheels .

Couple of shots with the tank slotted on

For that brake reservoir, have you considered using a Ducati clutch reservoir? Some of them are tiny. Here's one; it's possible there may be others even smaller:

Yes! That was my first idea as i have got a small Brembo clutch reservoir but it still looks wrong.
A piece of clear tube with a stopper will be neater and do the job as long as i leave an air gap above the fluid for expansion.
