lol. oh yea, u have that super mono rear end back there now. so u may not even have that issue anymore. 1 other thing that i noticed after my conversion was the lack of flex. before the front and rear conversion u could really feel the bike flex when u followed a crack in the pavement. now it is almost completely gone. it has to be a major crack to even feel it now.
the front is a little twitchy with the new forks tho. i think it must be due to the dif trail. it just doesn't settle as quick as it used to. its not a problem, just dif. and the steeper rake makes it turn with less effort.B)

Well Mark I took the bike around a corner fast enough to touch a hard part down this evening, and I didn't feel any flexing yet. It's a tight right hand corner, and I normally almost touch my knee when riding the ninja. It barely touched the outside corner of the header collector.

This evening I worked on mounting my mirrors. I think that I like this position. It allows for totally unimpeded view to the rear.

Oh yeah, I almost forgot that I removed the crossbar from those dirtbike bars. It blocked the gauges a little. I still need to figure out some lower handlebar risers.

I cheated on the old girl a little today, and spent a some money on the ninja. A zx-10r.net member was parting out his race bike and I got his Power Commander for $165 shipped. Couldn't pass that deal up. It will go in the box of goodies for when I start that project some day.

Is it because the arms on the mirrors are short or because of a change in riding position that they work better for you under the bar? I see people doing this and haven't had a chance to experience why it is necessary or preferable (my tall mirrors don't have that problem apparently...)

Well, in my situation, this position allows me to look underneath my arms. I don't think it would be practical with the stock length mirrors. They would be awfully low. I'm fairly tall (6'3") and broad shouldered. I can't think of a bike that have ridden with standard mirrors that didn't give me a wonderful view of my shoulders. The underslung position works for me, and bar ends work too. On my ZX-10r I have to lean slightly to shift my shoulder out of the way so I can see anything in the mirror.

I also don't have a mirror mount on the right side any more. The GSXR master cylinder doesn't have provisions for a mirror. It would be on the fairing on that bike. I had to come up with some kind of mount or run the bar ends.

No sir. They might if I had the stock steering stops, but mine are limited to keep the forks off the tank.

So, whats the fake carbon bit on the back side of the front master cylinder? Mounting the mirrors under the handlebar fro better visability....thats thinking outside the box bud, good thinking ;)

No kidding. If you scrape parts on the ninja, then you are usually scraping your parts too. Like your elbow or dare I say shoulder. :pinch:

I got the mirrors off ebay. Some vender from Taiwan. The action had no reserve and I got them for the opening bid. $4.98 or something cheap. Shipping was $15 and they got to me in 10 days. These are the same mirrors but different vendor: cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KOSO-Chopper-10m...fPartsQ5fAccessories

They will probably vibrate, but I really only need them to get past a safety inspection once a year. We'll see. If they don't work, I'm out $20. No biggie.

Ha Ha, I didn't tell you that I'm cutting in on your market. Carbon brake perches. :P

Just kidding. That GSXR had loads of that ebay special, fake carbon stuff on it. The brake and clutch levers, turn signals, etc. I hate that stuff. Who do they think they're fooling? I'll either replace that one remaining bit or paint over it with some DP90. I'm getting ready to fire up the redneck paint booth in the near future.

Keen eye, you don't miss much, do you?

i have seen numerous mirror brackets that will replace the back half of your zx brake clamp. this 1/2 clamp has the mirror post female thread built in so u can screw the mirror into it. not sure where i saw them but they are out there. maybe someone here has a link ?
be careful scraping that header. it wont be long before u have a large hole worn through. that's what prompted me to change mine.
