Many thanks to all of you for the encouraging words. I am feeling much better now, went up to Reno Fernley raceway today to stroll about the pits, while a motorcycle track day was going on.

Took a week off went to Utah for WSB.. then on to the eastern (almost Colorado) part of Utah to visit the grandson. By the way the grandson is not "potty trained" but thanks to grandpa now has a brand new Honda 50!!

3 more weeks and I can ride again. The anger over the KZ electrical thing is finally subsiding and as soon as I get caught up on the "honeydoo" list, I will be purchasing more parts.

I recall a website or company that would rebuild KZ tach and speedo to make them look brand new and have zero miles...do any of you know the name if so can you post a link?

I suspect the speedo will be off due to the different wheel, and don't even know for sure if it will all tie together, but the Gage pack is a KZ signature (visual) item I just really want to keep the old Kz profile intact.

Any experiance out there regarding switching wheels and still utilizing the old Speedo?

Alomst healed, and now I must be faster, as there is Titanium in me body!!

Again thanks to all of you for the great posts and encouragement.

Roger that. I had a very "active" tour. I bet you understand.

u are using a zx9 front wheel right ? i am.
i used the zx9 speedo drive. it has a larger thread on the drive than the kz. so i pulled the bottom ends off the zx9, and kz cables, and switched them. it works fine. i do believe that Motion Pro will make up a custom cable for little cash though.
i have found that the speedo is out almost 15 mph though. i dont know how u could fix that.
i have often thought about putting an Acwell gauge into the kz cup somehow.
Glad to hear that u are healing up. :)

Ted, give zresto a call. It's the link that KZ250LTD gave you. I'd be interested to know if they can re-gear for proper function. I have been avoiding dealing with this issue. I have a good looking speedo that isn't hooked up right now. I'm judging my speed intuitively at the moment.

Good to see that your recovery is progressing well. We need to get your bike on the road. You're so close.

Awesome build.
While you're recovering, think about this, What about making a new kickstand out of Titanium?

My good friend Prouty found a dirtbike aluminum Kickstart lever in the mountains of WA. i think we will try to fabricate a modification to the stock splined flange in order to fit the Al kickstart lever.

One of the things i really wanted to keep was the kickstarter, just because, when i started riding electric start was not real...ahhh "manly".
