The Suzuki as it raced at Ontario Motor Speedway. Don't remember where it finished. The gas tank vent was plugged up so it would run out of fuel at the end of the long straight.

Vinsky, thanks very much for posting all this info! I considered ordering a Harris from England back in the early 80's for a Z1 motor, if I remember right it was around $10 K shipped to Canada.

Does that red Suzuki in the pic above have a nickel plated frame or is that just silver paint?

Also, was there a aerodynamicist "go to guy" for the bodywork back then? Or a wind tunnel facility for smaller production runs back then?

The tank and tail look aerodynamically challenged on a lot of the race bikes back then, yet the basic design seems to be very popular for its day.

Very interesting and cool bikes!

Cheers, Doug

This Suzuki frame was nickeled. Behn tried to sell these kits for about 2 grand with your choice of a sprint or enduro tank. The fairing and tail piece was from Camber ??, the tank by Behn. With that fairing, the bike overheated so the oil cooler was put on the tail piece.
This bike is probably still running around Phoenix, Az.

Vinsky, Lang says, "Hi!"

My buddy and I were at Lang's shop a couple of Saturday's ago. He's working on the Tri-Mill again. It runs now and isn't far away from being brought back fully to life!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Here are some pics:

Apparently, I'm the only one, other than Lang, to sit on it since he got it.

I made one significant contribution to this project. I donated the stock shift lever off my KZ1000!! B)
