Not yet. My bottle connection to new fuel line. I figured it was ok. Once i get it to run from the actual tank i'll put the inline filter.
But even still...all four float valves?
Guess it's possible just seems unlikely. I think some kinda vacuum was created like you said & locked-up the floats.
One thing's for sure; i'll find out tonight!

Sorry I should have stated that I was only getting that effect at 60-80 mph (in a strong air stream) and not at Idle....... like I said I always just kept them open but after readying on here to put the hoses on I did and it instantly started so I knew what to change back and as soon as I did it went away.....

Can this carb body be used to replace mine?

Notice how the adjustment screw has a plate in it... No adjustment but it's the "inside right" carb body that I need.

What I am thinking is I would have to match carb 1,2 and 4 to this one with vacuum gauge during carb synchronization; no?

You will have to take the plug out by drilling a small hole, putting a screw in it and pulling the plug out.

Thanks Steve!
So that plate is removed, and the boss will already be drilled and tapped for the air mix screw's threads and seat?

The odd thing about that screw is the manual states to rotate back from seated 2 turns until screw head recess is level with boss lip - pretty much exactly where that plate is. Turning it out any further and the screw is nearly unscrewed completely anyway. It made me think that is why they appear to have done away with it by 1981...

I have to replace my #3 carb body OR replace the entire carb bank with something else. Don't ask :pinch:

The screw is in there. i think it's a shorter screw with no O rings to seal them.
