So that plate is removed, and the boss will already be drilled and tapped for the air mix screw's threads and seat?
The odd thing about that screw is the manual states to rotate back from seated 2 turns until screw head recess is level with boss lip - pretty much exactly where that plate is. Turning it out any further and the screw is nearly unscrewed completely anyway. It made me think that is why they appear to have done away with it by 1981...
I have to replace my #3 carb body OR replace the entire carb bank with something else. Don't ask
