I heard that in the video and the mph was off from last time out 5 mph slower.
Clutch was slipping on the gear change so time for a clutch upgrade.

As for the longer arm bike rode great .

I just read elsewhere that a longer arm sometimes will make you lose some MPH. With the longer arm you are leaving harder so making quicker time off line but losing it on the top end. Don't have enough time to make up the mph....you are getting to finish line too quick...:)

.I've read that to and it may be true The way I'm geared (16-45)
I'm normaly top of third at the light 1/8 mile and bump the rev. limiter
about 40 feet passed that.
Last time out it was hittin the limiter at about 600 feet and slippin the clutch
on the fourth gear shift.in the light's.

I think it's just time I did something to this old stock motor.
started as a $100 part's bike been outside for six years uncovered
with no carb.s and I've been BEATING on it for about two year's
it's gettin tired.

Now that you have lengthened the swingarm, has your traction gotten worse with the tire pushed back? That new tire is a good one but with being back farther and you probably leaving a little harder, wondering if you have made another weak point for yourself in the traction department...

I was leaving soft with 1.8 60ft time's trying to get a feel of
of the bike and no issue with spining the tire.
Now on the street I can blow it; up in smoke if I want..
Even if it ain't fast it sure do look cool for a little KZ650.

Always liked those 650's. Yours looks great with the longer wheelbase. It will be a fantastic e.t. bike. Used to be a guy racing one years ago around here. I think he was down in the 10 second bracket. Really sharp bike painted up in the traditional Kawasaki green paint job like the ELR's. With all these fast modern bikes out running now, I've found that by going the other direction and running these older bikes, it actually makes it real hard for these guys with their busa's, etc. Race one of these older bikes in the 11 second zone or slower and these guys have fits. They are going so fast when they finally catch up at the finish line, they have a hard time gauging the closing speed. Even if they lift, they are moving so fast they can't slow enough to really help them cut their e.t. enough to keep from breaking out. I have damn near junped off my bike a couple times when they came flying by 30-40 mph faster but more times then not....I win cause they can't judge me fast enough to keep from running to fast. Was planning to build a big-block KZ to run but having a hard time doing it yet...keep thinking of running stock motor in a good chassis and mess with those rocket ships. Slow and go...then take their money! lol

Going to go run some 1/4 mile pass tonight.
Haven't ran 1/4 mile in over two year's.
Time to see if I can beat my buddy Eric on his
'99 ZRX1100 1/4 mile.
Last time we raced I trailer'd him five in a row 1/8 mile
and I think I've got him covered enought in the 1/8
he'll have a hard time running me down in the 1/4.

OK guys,,, time for me to pipe in and keep zuki honest
Im his buddy w/ the REX
1st) I never said his bike would never beat mine...what I did say was I would never mod, fix, or anything else to
my ELR ZRX ,until he could beat me concistantly,, now just to keep things on the up & up,,, I did try wheelie bars &struts,,, didnt like the out come...
seemed like trying to ride a different bike, I ride like a hooligan on the street, so why not on the strip.
2nd)he didnt tell you I was recovering from a bad crash,& hadnt raced for 2 years(one trip,I had a hiered gunn
cuz I didnt think my arm could handle it)
3rd)I also left my bike at home one trip so I could take those beautifull vids he posted above.....
so, now you know the rest of the story........P.S. I still dont have to mod my ELR ZRX

cant wait to see the pics from this weekend ,,thanks for the good time dave ,,I had a blast,.......
