Maybe start with the basics?

Flip the choke on, kick it over 3 or 4 times, then remove the plugs to see if they are wet. If they are dry then you start looking at the fuel system and the air filter. If they are wet then you know you're getting fuel and move on to the ignition system.

Next step is going to take two people, since you no longer have electric start.
Have your assistant hold one plug against the head (after installing the other plug and wire) and see if there is spark at the plug while you kick it over.Would be a little easier if you left the other plug out and just grounded the plug wire. Check both plugs.

The 750 twin should start on one kick, and is rideable on one cylinder, so you may have multiple problems going on.

Oh yeah, check the coil resistances using the specs in the manual, and check the compression if not already done.

I always begin with he choke on then after 3-5 kicks turn it off and crack the throttle and try. I Have already grounded the plugs and plenty of spark however I have noticed the spark will be very strong on one kick and weaker on another kick. I did leave the bike on one night so that was a cause for concern but the coil still heats up when the key is on as it should and spark is present so I didn't think it did any damage. I will test it.

I pulled plugs and right side was dry and left was soaking. But what would cause the right can/cyl 2 carb to black fuel!? I have cleaned it 200000000 times..... I will check the diaphragm for pin holes too but anything specific that would cause this? I always make sure the jets are completely clear and visible to the other side through the hole.

Ultrasonic cleaner with the carb bodies totally stripped is the only thing that works for me when it comes to cleaning the carbs.
Good spark under atmospheric pressure does not mean good spark under cranking pressure. Coils will burn up fast when left under load for even a short time. I lost a bet (on here) and a new Accel coil by feeding it 12 volts and grounding the points side (like if the points were closed and key on). 28 seconds and the smoke escaped.

Test the resistance, ~17k-22k ohms on the secondary side (between the spark plug wires) and 3-5 ohms on the primary side (between the two small terminals).

Has compression test been done?

Don't forget the starter fluid exercise, as it should help with diagnosis.

Good Fortune! :)

Patton, compression test has not been done. The tester is at my brothers as he was borrowing it for his car but I will get it tomorrow.

Coil reads 2.5ohms contact to contact. 21.4k ohms lead to lead. When cleaning the carbs this time I noticed two things. One that float needle was sticking when I would let the floats hang(prior I steel woooled the float needle and needle seat) so this time I wire wheeled the float need to make sure all the gunk came off. She doesn't stick at all now. I made sure the polished tip was not damaged. Still polished. Second......and the face palm.....I noticed the synchro access ports weren't connected.... I got some fuel line and connected them, I'm assuming a lot of the vacuum from the engine would escape through those ports instead of pulling fuel into the motor. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

Well guys. I feel extremely defeated. My kickstart shaft must have bent because it barely moves with lots of torque on it. I got the bike to do something which was basically break my ankle. The ig timing must be too retarded because I kicked it over and it kicked back. I weigh 250 lbs and all the force of my weight combined with the kicking back of the Kickstarter went into my ankle....I walked it off after a few minutes and determined to get it running I kicked it and it broke my ankle a second time. This thing hates me and it's very discouraging. I guess it's time to take it to a guy but I suppose I'll have to get a new starter first since mine is seized.....kill me.

It's been a long while. I brought it to a shop and they basically told me a bunch of shit i already knew about the bike and wanted 2200 dollars to install a new starter and then fix the timing. i am adamant on getting this thing on the road before it gets cold. A friend who came back to the states convinced me to tear down the motor and replace the kick shaft. so i did. I got everything back together today, I lapped the valves, honed the cylinders and replaced a piston while i was in there bc one of my piston skirts was chipped. I also put my stock points system back on as i was running 1/2 dyna ignition and it was causing problems. oh and i bought a starter from the junkyard which is working great(go figure).

NOW after getting everything together making sure timing is correct etc, i am having issues with the carbs again. I know it's the carbs because i have been starting it (electric and kick) and it doesnt hit or anything so i checked for spark and there is plenty on both sides. I then checked the plugs and they were bone dry. I just put new plugs in so it's easy to tell.

It seems as though my engine isnt creating enough vacuum to pull fuel into the cylinders. Before installing i also cleaned the carbs thoroughly and put new bowl gaskets on.

Please HELP. i gotta get this thing running ASAP. thanks guys. You always come through.

oh, also i tested the compression and one side was 80 the other side was 90, but that was cold and the battery was a little low.

steel any other suggestions? i know i am getting good spark. but the plugs are dry. i just cleaned the carbs and all. took all the jets out and made sure they were clear. i even emptied the float bowls and both sides are full of fuel. i cant figure out why this thing isnt getting fuel.
