Ok so heres an update:

This is a picture of my tank after A LOT of bodywork and a single coat of primer. I plan on wet sanding it and repeating the primer a couple more times. Once that is complete I am going to paint the tank with the bomber scheme, apply the decals, and then clearcoat it.

Also I am currently working on the seat pan. I am forming the base of it out of three 1/4" pieces of hardwood plywood sandwiched with wood glue and clamped to the frame to take on the frames form. I have my fingers crossed that it will hold the form when the clamps are released.

Once that is done I will go to work on the rear "hump". Ill post pictures to show you how its coming along soon hopefully.

If it doesn't work ill unclamp it, soak it in water, then clamp it back down to see if it will hold then.

If you had a way to steam it I think it would hold. Plywood may delaminate if soaked.. If you remove and have partial bend maybe try overbending. Nice thing is that you are not out much more than time.

just make a fiberglass pan and be done with it. plywood is for houses not for bikes.
its real easy. here is a tutorial>>>

You do realize the luxury car made by Morgan has an entirely wood chassis right? Plywood is a strong and easily formed base for the seat pan.

Alright, so here is the progress on my seat so far. Under the "hump" there are 2 hollowed out cavities for the battery and the fuse box. Next up is fiberglassing the whole thing, some bodywork with dyna-glass to smooth it all out, then paint.

My understanding of what he's saying is that he is glassing the whole buck but leaving the foam and plywood, is that correct? Otherwise why would you already have cavities for the components in the tail? I'm with ^him though, pull glass off this as a plug and then it'll be lighter and completely hollow for your electrical components.

Getting close to finishing the bodywork on my seat pan. It is heavy but that doesnt matter to me, im not racing my bike so the additional 5 pounds and .0005 second quarter mile time doesnt hurt me lol. Anyway here are some pictures.

The tail light I got from Chromeglow will wrap around that rear frame hoop under the seat. It has the turn signals, running lights, and brake light all wrapped into one l.e.d. strip.
