I wanted the TL to look like it belonged there so the JB weld was really the best solution. The tabs I am speaking of could have been cut off and I could have just used the metal bracket to hold it in place. On the first version of this build I used a '01 Ducati TL and held it in with just a bracket, but that's what it looked like. This time around I wanted all the gaps filled so it looked like it belongs there. Again it's not perfect fit but very close.

As for the design that Grumpy made, I asked him to design me a side badge that looked like the original only with the Phoenix Fighter under it. Unfortunately the vinyl cutting machine needed closed lines. Grumpy did great work for me and it would be great for a T-shirt but not for this application. Lesson learned.

Tee shirts on the way?
I don't trust JB Weld. I'm using Fiberglass resin for my plastic fixes now. Where practical I try to add mechanical fasteners as well.

I'm with you Steve, but the TL weighs a few ounces and it is not structural and very easy to mold and sand. The stuff iS rock solid. It's all about the prep work. I roughed up the underside of the duck bill with a 60 grit nylon wheel it allowed my to put little divots in the plastic which gave the JB weld something to grab on to. It worked really well. If I ever change the light I will have to grind the JB weld out.

Honestly, I will probably make a T-shirt with Grumpy's logo on the front and KZR on the back.

I'd buy some. My granddaughter would love one.

LOL I don't think anyone is that big of a fan of my build to have my bikes name on the front other than me. I was going to say you can order a KZRider shirt from Cafe Press, but the apparel link is now gone from the website. I tried searching Cafe Press, which is where the link used to take you to order but it is not an option any more. luckily I had the graphics for the old shirt sent to me so I might be able to have one made by cafe press still. If you really want one let me know, I'll look into it.

She looks good on that bike.

I'm currently in the process of putting the cylinder and head back on. Just had to tear it back down. The cam chain slipped out my hand and when I went to drag it back up with an extendable magnet the end came off and of course went down inside the motor. 5th time is a charm.

I just use a piece of baling wire to hang it from the frame like a big hook. If I drop it, I just fish it out. Sometimes you got to jiggle it until it comes out all the way.

I feel your pain. i have to do a complete tear down to install the correct cam chain.
