so i bought this bike a few weeks ago and this is were im going to post the pics of the random things i do to it and take when working on it so far i have replaced the right hand controls with oem and pulled and cleaned the carbs

congrats and nice bike! i have a 83 kz550 ltd C4 fortunate enough by buddy just gave it to me to fix up on my own. When you cleaned the carbs did you totally break them down or just sprayed em with cleaner?

i pulled the bowls out and they werent that drity and very thing else looked and moved smooth

i fixxed it and does anyone know what gas tank with the speedo on it(like the vn 800 tank but thats a big tank for a small bike) will fit on mine. i want to get the handbars a bit more naked and i really like the look of them

man im having a hard time trying to find a day or two to crank out most the work i gotta do but every time i start to get into it another trip to the parts store or ebay. but its getting there slow and steady its my only bike, and i have the itch so i gotta get it up asap.
but i have to replace the throttle tube and cables and i want to put different bars on it so im gonna wait till i pick out and order the ones i want cause ive got new grips. i also have to make a the carb vavle flap. then simple stuff like oil change, brake fuild, i might put a new chain on it.

No worries im in the same lane as you. I still need to get my new battery, the tank back from my buddy whose working out the dents, rebuilding the carbs with gaskets n all, cables, pipes, etc.... hopefully its running by summertime though. Then im wanting to cut the frame down into a bobber. But i wannt get a feel of it first since its my first bike. Thats what the bike looks as of now..... and the other picture i may want to use that look, just to get it going for a further idea.

i was thinking about turning this one into one after i picked up another bikeso i got something to ride. because after i get this bike up and running right its my daily driver and its the only thing i got. since i put my bmw into a ditch 2 years ago this oct. right now im using my sisters or brother inlaws ride which are both fun little 5 speeds.

got the new bars on today. so now i need to go and find a smaller brake res, shorter brake line and run the wires so they dont sit between the gas tank and frame. but i found an awesome bike grave yard so i can just go pull what i need.
