so just a little update i would like to say that i have finished up the bike and have been riding her around but that would be a lie. it would also be a lie if i said that i havent had time to fix her up but i have i just have been lazy and havent had the drive to get back to work on it. so i guess my question is what helps you guys get back to projects after you havent worked on them in awhile?

lightitup Topic Author Offline User Posts: 236 Thank you received: 10	so im taking the easy route of this project and im using my tax money to get it fixed by a local guy i know who does really good work just so i can start riding. but i also wanted to replace the the brake shoes and pad and i was wondering what brands do you guys use any input would be great. 81 kz 550 ltd

I don't know about the shoes for the drum brake, but for the disk brake pads I recommend you get the genuine Kawasaki pads. Aftermarket pads may work fine to stop the bike, but at least some of them will squeal like a wounded pig until they are fully broken in after many miles or unless you chamfer their edges. Guess how I know. :laugh:
