No doubt!!! Thanks for the tip Leon! My back was feeling it this morning and I'm not a very small guy 6'1" 215 lbs. The garage smells like varnishy gas so bad lol forgot to drain the fuel bowls before pulling the carbs, poured about 2 cups worth on the concrete. Now I gotta order my gasket kit and clean this thing outside first then inside...any suggestions on cleaning(cleaners, brushes, worth the money to have it bead-blasted?)?.

a nice old pressure wash to start with, then attack the problem areas.
make a separate post when you get to any problems areas and you will get all kinds of ideas about how to get them clean.

Quick update, My gasket kit is on its way, found a guy on eBay that had the idle adjustment screw and rail I needed for my carbs and pulled my cam cover to take a look. Also I'm afraid there's not going to be much work done in the next few weeks as my grandmother passed away.

Thanks Leon, I really appreciate that man. I noticed some wear on the inside of the cam cover and tried to show it in the pics I posted as well as the cracked rubber isolaters on the chain bearing, that thing must have been wiggling around alot, could the cam cover be on backward or are they symmetrical? Another thing I noticed once I got the engine out of the frame that I forgot to mention is the drive sproket was loose so I tried to turn the locknut and the damn thing was loose, like I spun it off with one finger. Thank god I didn't try to ride this thing, I can just imagine that nut coming off at 60 mph and locking everything down, tossing me like The Goose in Mad Max.

Get good gaskets but also get all the o-rings and seals....make sure you have the washer and spring for the oil filter. I like cometic gaskets.

I got the Vesrah complete gasket kit, I saw a oil seal kit I'm guessing I need one of those too right? I didn't see some of the seals that were in the oil seal kit in the Vesrah kit. I've got a spare o-ring set for the oil filter but I'll need the washer and spring.

It will be here today, I'll look it over for any marks to tell me what it's from, I bought it on Ebay and it was a bike part out so I doubt they know either but I'll ask. :) I was thinking since it has the offset shock hole either an older zx7 or yamaha.

dude, I was tempted to bid on that seat, but I don't like the red piping. Glad you got it, hope it works for you.
