its looking great
how much did it cost to powdercoat the pipe?

baldy110 wrote: More work done today. Got the Kerker back form the powder coaters. Not perfect but for what I started with a huge difference. Came out a lot better than I had hoped considering all the rust and pitting.

I bought the correct KR pipe which came with the tag from a member here many years ago, don't remember his name. The tag was pretty rough and I actually thought of tossing it and getting another. However after research and failing to find a correct Kerker badge, little did I know they are impossible to find I decided to re-condition the original it came out pretty decent. All that is left now is the seat, tank, and tuning.

Yeah, I saw the tank on Ebay. It is selling for a pretty penny, Did you sell your ELR? I have always wanted a 1982 ELR, I remember sitting on them new in the dealership when I 20 years old. Couldn't afford one then and now they are way priced out of my budget.
About 20 years ago I decided since I cannot afford a real ELR I would build me the next best thing, a clone. So I started accumulating parts to build one. I started this project about 10 years ago and slowly but surely it has come together.

Looking sharp!

Apologies for jacking the thread, there's a damn nice '82 ELR in the Inland Empire I know of. It will be for sale sometime in the next few years.

Got the tank back from Mark Wing, beautiful job by the way. All that is left is the seat which I hope to have next week and dialing the carbs. I started it last weekend what a great sounding engine with the Kerker. I noticed the engine would turn over really slow with the stock starter, high compression pistons and larger bore. An old trick is to use a Honda CB900F starter. I happen to have one so I rebuilt it and it bolted it in. Spins over nice and quick now. Almost done.
