I was an addict for many years. My addiction was to motorcycles!!! I gave up family, food, and social life just to keep my addiction going. Racing motorcycles is just like doing heroin, once you do it, you want more and more!!! I turned into an indentured servant at work. I would just sign my check over to the shop every week, and I would still own tons more money on my parts bills!!! The more I made, the more I spent on motorcycles. I would go to all my friends houses on different nights so I could have a decent dinner.
Back around 1987 or so I stopped racing so I didn't have to spend everything I made on motorcycles anymore. I had three desk drawers filled with invoices of motorcycle parts. We added them up one weekend, and was shocked on what I spent on motorcycles. From 1976 to 1987, I had 197,000.00 dollars of receipts for motorcycle related items!!!! And that was all at dealer cost!!!
I never became completely clean on my addiction to motorcycles. I did go through a twelve step program and that did help me come back down to earth in many respects. Now I only spend all my extra cash on motorcycles after I pay all my bills first!!!

After I got out of the hospital in 11 I realized I was stuck in a cage wherever I went. I'd look at the bike sitting under a tree where it had been for 15 years and said to myself, this is why I'm giving up on life. even though I had no money for it, I started cleaning it up and painting it.
When the tranny went out on the car I was looking at $1000-1500 to fix it myself or put that money into the bike. I chose the bike.
The doctors gave me two years. That was in 2011. I had a lot of work to do.
After the first run my moral came up and I had something to look forward to every day.
She just gets better and better.
Doctors only practice medicine. Lets RIDE.

Motorcycles are better than any high price shrink to keep me sane
and are a lot more fun too..
I rode my bike to the hospital every day during my radiation treatments
It made having to go thru chemo tolerable
