Best Windscreen Size for KZ1000P?

Hello All,

I finally have the beast running and it has a windscreen that has been cut down to 14 inches tall. When on the freeway I can feel the wind with my hand hitting my helmet right at my nose/ears and have LOTS of wind noise. It looks cool, but seems kinda pointless to even have a wind screen.

Going to buy a new screen and am considering the "recurve" or "flip" at the top of the screen. Depending on the vendor, I am told that it deflects the wind another 2-5 inches. I am 6' 1" and am considering an 18" screen with the recurve option. Thoughts/experience anyone? The stock for a P is 20.5", but I want to still be able to see some road above the screen if possible. My windshield is just below eyeglass level. It is small enough as to not slow the bike down too much and I can still sit up doing a ton or in high winds. I just ordered a larger one for winter riding. It will break the wind on my hands so they won't get so cold. I'll switch them back over in the spring.

I struggled with this on my KZP. Mine came with a shorty screen I didn't like. I went with these guys: Cee Baileys
They used to have a section on their site that instructed you on how to measure for the correct WS height. I used their method but was not happy since the top of the WS seemed to coincide with my view of the road. In other words, I was always looking over or under the edge of the screen. I sent it back and they shortened it (for free) and now it seems perfect. It's 17 1/2" tall and seems about right for me. I'm 6' 1/2".
Oh, and I saw on another website Cee baileys is still selling MC windscreens but they are having problems with their web site.

I don't have wind buffeting issues on my helmet and can see over the top. It' not a recurve. I had a recurve on a different bike but felt it slowed me down and lowered my gas mileage.

I have been here to buy Kawasaki's windshield, goo.gl/rp8yXH it is a generic model, glass mirror will be relatively small, there is space to see the road ahead.

PERFECT! Thanks JakeDude, I was already thinking of the 18 inch screen, but WITH the recurve. Good to know that it might not be worth the extra dough.
