What is the problem with your ignition lock ? I have posted a thread on how to repair these mechanically

kzrider.com/forum/4-electrical/618392-82...arrel-removal#877850

It was in bits when I got it. I put it back together but the plastic base that holds it together was  broken so currently I've got it held with a tie clip and tape  . It holds but for how long....
Also the steering lock isnt working but I missed that when I first put it together so need to have another look at why that is

Hi Scirocco, really appreciate you taking time to send pics, thanks so much! Seems to be a lot of differences between your loom and mine, I think it would require a bit of work to make it fit so Im going to first try to repair mine.
My bike is a UK 1981 gpz1100b1 so not sure if yours came from a different market/model, I think I saw on cmsnl parts list there were 2 different looms - 260011354 and 260011366
Ill come back to you if it doesnt work out!
BTW, would you have an ignition lock for sale?
I think it´s easier to modify my wiring loom offer to your needs, instead to repair your totally molten loom = hack job.
Just my 2 cents, it´a waste of time......

Agree and it makes sense as you have a RR with it but the problem is from looking at the photograph and obviously its difficult to see in detail but there seems to be a lot of differences that would involve work. Heres my loom spead out, maybe you can compare it?
I figure  the damage to mine is limited to one area and only one connector is damaged so I can just replace the marked area with new wire and terminals. There are already many taped joins in this area so I can eliminate them at same time.
Thakns for your help!

It is your decision to do it that way but without a Plan B option........

I do have an alternative for you, I have a 82 Ltd loom that I won't be using complete with R/R and fusebox (I will be keeping the neutral light and oil light wiring) but the rest of my electrics will be custom. I don't know what your electrical skill levels are but I suspect all that you require could be harvested from this and spliced into your original (nothing wrong with splicing if done right) let me know your thoughts

Thanks mate, thats very good of you.
Im going to rewire my loom as Im very comfortable with auto electrics but the red block connector would be nice and i need  a fusebox and RR.
Assume you are in the UK so it might make sense to buy yours anyway. how much?
BTW is there a way to message individuals on this forum? I couldnt find a way
Cheers
