Don't know what the rest of the bike is like or what prices are like in the USA but in the UK if you put another $500 into getting it right $1k is still a cheap 750 Zephyr

That's true,  Daveo and they are usually pretty cheap. I might do that... it definitely has potential to atleast be rolling around on the road might not ever look the best but I'd be ok with just being able to go on some rides.

Haha you will change your mind once you see these pictures Wookie. It has a lot of damage and has definitely been ghetto rigged. The tank is from a vulcan I was told, literally jist not I took it around the block and the throttle cable broke which I knew it was going to soon because when I had taken the throttle off because it was sticking I noticed the part that connects into the throttle was some solder instead of the piece and that's why it was sticking. I put the tygon fuel line on there because before it was literally like 3 pieces of that blacked braided nylon fuel hose connected together and were leaking like crazy.....There is so much more but I think these pics will be able to tell you enough haha.

And I've already spent about another 400 on it. Tools, battery, carb rebuild kit, diaphrams, spark plugs, oil, oil filter, air filter, crush washers, fuel line, petcock, Haynes manual, vacuum syncs gauges, that's all I can think of off the top of my head. Oh and the time I've spent so far working on it, which hasnt been to much but still... so I've already almost put another 500 into it and will probably have to throw atleast another grand into it, and that will only to be to get it rideable, not including what a tank would cost me or possibly having to get a new engine Yada Yada Yada. Haha. Oh well I guess enough being negative, I'll get it going someday and hopefully will be able to make it into a cool looking cafe racer or something down the road as well

These bikes can't be worth much in good condition either though right? They weren't ever really popular. I wanted it because it is an old air cooled inline four and I have always loved inline 4 cyl. Bikes. pretty much all I've ever had has been street bikes except for this one....

What do you think it's forks and clip on bars are from? I'm pretty sure that's not stock and came from some kind of street bike haha. The few times i have got it running  before it takes a shit again and have been able to ride it, it does make for a fun and comfortable ride.
