Krazze1, my KZP was a 2002 (my brother now owns it) and it has shim over bucket.
I'm well aware, I had the pleasure?, of working on more than a few 1000P models. Kevski made the shim under bucket speculation.

And shim over bucket would be correct. I’m not aware of any Kz1000, j, or MKII that are factory SUB.

I caught a bunch of crap from my riding friends for rejetting (detuning) the carbs to make better gas mileage and changing the sprockets for lower highway RPM. The thing has a four gallon tank! I went from low 30's mpg to over 45. Some oomph did disappear but wasn't really noticeable until the sprocket changes.
