Last saturday was going to be 70 degs so I decided to change my rear tire and get in the last good day.Heres how it started

And heres how it ended

While whacking the tire iron with the rubber mallet,a squirrel ran by with my hound on his tail, distracted me in mid swing, good thing it was the rubber mallet and not the 2lb sledge I grabbed first.Fractured index finger knuckle. That night we got 8 ins of wet snow and the bike is sittin in my driveway instead of the shed I built for it...with no rear wheel.
Looks nice but its too soon for this crap

Hate it when that happens...

Toys for Tots run is this coming Sunday. It's always the Sun. after Thanksgiving. The weather looks promising too. Largest TfT run we've ever ridden in was 8,000+ bikes. Even if it's 35deg. & raining there is always a hard core of maybe 300 Riders that make the run. Not us though; if it's like that we take our toys to the run terminus in a car.

Heal well.

Good Ridin'

Yeah, left hand.Same hand I mangled 3 yrs ago when I got hit on my Harley.Took almost 3 yrs after the surgery til I could squeeze a clutch again. Not too bad, just a small fracture.I already took that monstrosity of a splint/bandage off.I'd rather deal with some pain now than the atrophy after having it immobilized for a couple weeks.

Low 70's here, tomorrow TG will be a little warmer. The ride to the high desert tomorrow will probably be the last nice one until spring. Leather, chaps and thermals from then on. :( At least we'll still be able to ride.

You guys are killing me

Man that sucks Stokes, if I was closer I'd give you a hand making her a roller again, no pun intended.
Keep your hand up and don't push it for a while.

Hand breaks are bad. Make sure it heals right.
Blue, not trying to rub it in, Summers are brutal here. Rode only in the cooler parts of the days. Too hot to work on the bike so I have plenty of work to do on her this winter too.

Got it covered,JD,thanks.Took it over to a local wrench yesterday,Will have it back on the bike friday.Hopefully this ice and snow melts over the next couple days.I aint leavin that splint on any longer.Last time I had pins and a removable cast on for 4 months, afterwards the doc told me atrophy was the biggest obstacle, almost a year of PT for the hand and then I had the pleasure of having the shoulder and elbow done.Hadnt been able to ride for almost 3 yrs,I intend to get as much time on the road as I can this winter, weather permitting.
