i'm back in cottonwood now.
my right eye is an injury induced macular degeneration. when i feel frisky, i close my good eye and drive a bit with the fuzzy one. good times!

I lived on Cliffside Trail from 2002 to 2011 in L.M. Nothing to do in L.M. after the golf course club house closed. They used to roll the sidewalks up at 8 PM!!!

Today is moving day. First thing in was my wiring diagram for a Z1. Then came the bikes. My vision was different than my Sweetums'. Guess what we wound up with? The KZ1000 is closest. Then her KZ550. Then my Z1B. And another Z1B on the left under restoration.

Do you plan on putting down some concrete around your new workshop??

Or is it too late up there to be putting in concrete, or is that on next years list of things to do??

I live in an apt. so rent two 10x20 storage units for a shop.

Now with 17,000 btu of ac.

After my shop was torched in 10 I had to work on the bike under a tree and once in 87 after the wreck I used what is now my daughter's room before I got the kids. It has a three foot Dutch door so it was easy to go in and out. In 13 I converted her green house then built a shade cover on the back of it. It served as a clean room and a place to work on the bike. It was hot in the summer and cold in the winter. I had the opportunity to get enough plywood and 2X4's for the sides, with what I had on hand I was able to build a modest little shop. Not as big or nice as you guys have but good enough for me. It's cool in the summer and with a space heater it will be warm in the winter. I feel like I'm walking in "tall cotton" now.

I really miss my shop in the basement of my old apartment that only I and the landlord had access to.
He gave me a good deal because he liked having access to my tools for when he needed to fix something in one of the units. He could stop on his way home from work without having to bring tools. He was very good about putting them back too.
The shop was heated in winter and naturally cool in summer and very dry. I could leave a bike in there for years and never see any corrosion from condensation or humidity. The ceilings were 12 feet, I think.

I had a trolley system on an I-beam so I could suspend and move bikes around without suspension, and move them out of the way if I needed to. The downside is that you have to be careful. A 400 pound bike acts like a wrecking ball if you move too fast.

Smells like money, and lots of it !
