Ok, one set of four brand new coal-colored spark plugs coming soon.
Boy am I glad for the wider air box, with 70mm velocity stack air boots...much easier to access the carbs for air jet changes, and to facilitate carb removal and installation.

They were also like that when I had the Dyno appointment...
Would not have if the engine didn't seem to be running great.:S
I'll leave it be and pull the plugs for a pic next week.

Please be-stay cool, friend.
Have you been able to resolve the detonation issue?

Since you only have 8.9 to one comp I wonder if reg might be your best bet or maybe with a little 89 mixed in ?
Found A Phillips 66 station only 15 miles from were I work one day a week that has 91 oct pure gas so I'm gonna get a 5 gal can of it or 2 to try it out....... EDIT ...... ha just went to a small town that has garage sales 5 miles away and found a 5 gal plastic can for 3 bucks after complaining to my wife we'll never find anyone that will want to sell one.
O yah and there is nothing wrong with ya....... just ask Steve these were made to "ride the piss out of em" once in a while.
Thanks KZB2 650
Rode some piss out today...and went to the gas station. :silly:
89 she got...3 gallons of it!
...sounded like a crop-duster all the way home!

Just got back home. I'm going to raise the needles one notch and see if that helps.

They are seldom happy, it seems at times.
Bumping the Pilot Jets to 22.5 seems to have fixed that in my case. Unbelievably so...and thanks for the suggestion to be patient with it. Less-frugal gas mileage  , but the transformation more than makes up for it! :woohoo:
