Crackheads stealing spark plugs

The same here in North Idaho. every so often I read about some guy that disappears forever, nobody knows nothin'.
It certainly ruins a hood's repeat offender status. :whistle:

My Mother used to tell us "if you will play on the stairs, you must expect to get hurt" if we'd go complaining to her about some injury or other received during some sort of rough housing, involving the staircase. I think it applies well to a lot of these thieves, especially when they come in to your home etc. If you don't want to get hurt, then don't do certain things that make that outcome likely, I have little sympathy for anyone breaking in to someone's home and getting shot. I hope to never be in that situation, but know from past experience, when the chips are down, survival mode takes over and it's definitely going to be them, not you, while there's breath in your body, even more so when their are loved one's at risk too.

I've read quite a few accounts where the criminal who gets shot has a very long rap sheet. many of which are very unpleasant crimes that make you wonder how they ever got out of prison in the first place, I often find myself mulling over the fact they won't be hurting anyone again.

Instead of shooting people and burying them in the desert ,maybe you could reshape the profile on the sparkplug nut. Grind it down a bit so that a regular sparkplug socket wont fit on it and make your own custom socket to fit.Its a bit of work,I know and you would have to do it each time you change plugs but it would be cheaper and a lot less messy than shooting someone in the head!!

They dont take the plugs out they just break them off.

Maybe leave a old one sitting on the seat? remember a old friend telling us guys a friend of his used to hook up a model T coil or maybe a series of them to his car door handle to keep folks away... not sure if was true or if it really worked but the memory always stuck with me. lol... shame you can't hook up 220.

That's called a man trap. Same thing as attempted murder. In this state it's call 911 and die or deal with him and take your chances. It's also important to note if you just wound him he can sue you and you can be paying him for the rest of his life. What makes matters worse is they are letting more and more out because they don't have room for them. They make the counties keep them longer too so they can build a bullet train to nowhere and that won't pay for itself. Nothing new here.

This season smash and grabs are way up. Christmas toys are being stolen and put up for sale on line. Armed robberies are up too. In this area (the high desert) the new laser lights are disappearing the first night.
The question is, if you have a alarm and catch the thief, what REALISTICALLY can you do with him? You can't hold him (false imprisonment). If you get them on video, will they really go after him? No, they don't have time for that. Even if they did, he'd be on the streets before the ink dried on the paperwork. As much as I like to say "I'll just shoot the son of a Benedict", the truth is I won't unless my life is in danger. Even then, the chances are, I'd go to jail and fare far worse than he would. The key is to enforce the laws already on the books. not make new ones or take guns away from people that have them to defend themselves. The people don't seem willing to do that at the polls and haven't for 40 years. :dry:

Do you have nowhere out of the way to put your bike Zaddict ?

Doesn't seem to make much difference where I park. This happened near work on a busy street in the Financial District, as well in my carport in Noe Valley (which is a pretty nice neighborhood).
Maybe I should just resign myself to having a beater bike while I live here. It's just too hard to keep it in top shape given the ravages of crackheads.
