Got a new flag. The one I bought last year is looking pretty shabby. These last a lot longer than the ones you get in local stores. Lots of goodies there.

This is one of the most treacherous roads out here. Not only is it in bad condition, there are gravel semis, bicycle riders sometimes 4 abreast, old tourists coming and going from the Preserve and just plain morons sightseeing. The turns are unpredictable and it was a wagon trail in the old west days. The plateau on the east was where the "indians" lived. The fire rings are still up there. They could have their fires at night with no mountains to reflect the light. "White eyes" would pass by and not even know they were there. Down below is an artesian spring with natural ponds with fish, crawdads, freshwater clams and animals for food. Cool during the summer and a natural windbreak. As kids we use to swim there and play. Like everything else, it's been turned into a tourist attraction and closed off from it's neighbors.
At least I knew it before it became "civilized."

Riding up the Frying Pan river flying into a curve and encounter 2 big horn sheep doinking in the middle of the road is pretty exciting! not exactly a Marty Stoufer moment.and a near broken relationship.
