I put our unit in the barn and rode home. They were still there. A few left. They put their belts together and tried to tow it. Not even leather belts. Didn't work.

No tools, don't know where the fuses are, What's becoming of our youth? A Harley rider rode past with a smile. I'll remember that when he is on the side of the road. This is a small community, it WILL happen.
Steve
I shortened the clip.

Heh. They thought they could tow it with another bike? I guess none of these guys have insurance, or even $50 for a tow truck? Wow. Those all of those bikes are probably stolen.

Tradition. Maybe wishful thinking?
I think it's a group of "Hispanic" guys, (gotta be politically correct) that formed a club and bought crotch rockets to be cool. At least they weren't Sprotsers. You know what they say about them. I could tell most of them resented me. I wonder why?
When I bought my Z1 in 75, there were four of us. Jim M 73 Z!, Larry M 74 Z1a, me 75 Z1b and Jim Erwin with his new 76 KZ 900. He and I were the only ones that knew how to work on bikes. The other two would take their bikes to the shop and brag about how much they spent. :S Jim M was the veteran. He was unbeatable in the turns. I could keep up with him, Larry spent $2000 on a 1015 kit, Kirker, cams, shocks and other mods but couldn't ride for SHT. He'd walk away from us in the straights and be in the way in the turns. Jim E was the slowest of the group. The KZ 900 was detuned. We were on top of the food chain but it didn't last. I left LA and never looked back.

 The thought of being tied at the hip to a dealer for service is just frightening. No center stands. WTF? I carry a patch kit and a mini compressor. Last year I passed by some Ninja's at 70 crossing the Mojave. I was at 4000 RPM and they were at 65 at 5000. All hunkered down like that. I was on a 400 mile ride, they were just going to the next town. To each his own.

I don't think these are the kind of guys who get their bikes serviced. They wreck it before the first oil change.

I started on a Sears All State. My first real bike was a 350 Honda. I learned to work on it and kept riding everywhere.
Took the alarm out of my truck and put it in the bike.

I don't work out of town anymore and it will be fun seeing the look on the faces of the low life's,

Cold and windy today so I might as well work on the bike in her shade cover. It's warming up a little so I'll run into town. I changed my shift lever back to the one I had on there for 20 years. The new one I bought from Z1E looked great but I couldn't get one notch down because of the pawl holding the kick stand spring. I'd miss shifts as a result.

I don't care what it looks like. I don't miss shift with it.

These people were playing cat and mouse with me for 5 miles. When I could pass, the van and car would speed up, then they would slow down again. They thought they had me again, I don't think so.
 Saw it was clear and went for it. By by.
Steve

The car followed me all the way into town. All butt hurt.
