The piston in question is what Z1E sent to me. That held me up for another two weeks. If you'll notice, the numbers on the boxes all match. Someone switched a piston. Why is anyone's guess.
The thing I don't understand is, why the deck height was even with the 10.25/1 pistons and now with the stock pistons they were 2 mm lower? Clearly if the rod or rod/crank is 8 mm shorter, I would have noticed it and wouldn't have runable compression.
If things go as they should, I will be able to do a final tear down and put thing to bed in mid summer when it's too hot to ride anyway.
BTW, I have my eye on a 903 crank and some have been offered here. At that point it will be my option to put in a 903 crank or keep the 750 one. That remains to be seen.
As I said before, I can sell the Z2 crank on eBay for a lot more because it is so rare.
I've been collecting items for when the time comes.
I started this thread to photo document this build. More to come.

how would a 750 crank make a 903 motor .you think everybody is stupid ?all they have to do is google kawasaki Z2 750 and they will find the specs for a jap only market 750 based on the z1 w ith short stroke and small bore.but i know yours MAGICAL IT MAKES ANY KZ INTO WHAT EVER YOU SAY IT IS .SO YOU ARE THE REAL POSER.

You have a z1b, and built the engine with a z2 crank rods and block, and put bigger pistons in it. Or am I missing something? Cases trans and head are from a 900 then?
