Wow, that swingarm looks nearly stock but how did he fit that wide tire on there??
Any idea what type of rims those are? Old Kaw race parts maybe? I've seen them on lots of old bikes and they look very close to the stock wheels, except much wider. I'd love to have a set of those.
The Kaw List:
Current: 79 KZ1000 A3 MKII, 78 KZ1000 A2, 78 KZ1000 Z1-R, 78 KZ650 SR, 80 KE175
Former: 03 KLX400SR, 99 ZRX1000, 82 KZ750 LTD, 80 KZ1000 A4 MKII, 80 KZ1000 LTD, 78 KZ1000 A2, 74 H-2 750 Triple, 78 KL250

Sandy Kosman has been widening wheels for decades. He changed a wheel for me years ago from 16X whatever it was to 17X6 to fit modern rubber on a project. look at kosmanspecialties.com/services/wheel-widening-and-weldups/ Paul

Yep, I had my wheels done there too. I just thought these might be some period correct race wheels that were around back in the day. Seems like a lot of vintage photos show them too, not just these retro mods....like the old Eddie Lawson bike, for example. The racers all had some kind of wider wheel and cool brakes. All I ever see for sale is the occasional Lester wheels...cool, but not quite the same.
