KZ750L4 - the bike that sat for 34 years.

Its good when it works out like that, I had no idea they were the same spacing until i put the front wheel in the forks, just lucky. The Z1300 had a 210mm fork spacing, apparently the GSXR has too, the Triumph forks I used are also 210mm spacing, they are also right side up forks, I didn't want to use USD's. I was lucky to get all this for 100usd

Wow that's a great deal. I'm about 650 CDN into the gsxr forks. I see you can put risers on your clamp as well. What are you going for bars?

Yeah I ended that sentence by saying I'm not following a specific plan. I'm doing the seat that I think will look good and I didn't want clip ons so i have LSL bar mounts. I think it can easily be argued that a build can incorporate a bit of both styles. If you take the clip ons off of a cafe racer most people wouldn't categorize it as such anymore. You add drag bars and what is it? Still a cafe racer? Who really cares lol

The triumph top clamp has risers as standard, I'm lowering the risers to about 40mm and using low rise superbike bars... I also had some new fork tubes made 100mm longer to get the correct ride height, had to lengthen the damper rod and make new spacers for the springs {came with racetech springs} , I have around 530 AUD {Australian dollars} into the front at this point, including the Z1300 front wheel and the 180 AUD it cost to buy the 320mm disc rotor blanks, I still think its a cheap conversion, looks great too...

That's going to be a great looking bike. Looks like your old man at least had a few other toys to make up for not riding!

Ordered a custom seat from Tuffside seats in Las Vegas. Highly recommended. Chopped frame, added LEDs, mounted gsxr forks, powder coated matching 18x2.15 front rim, installed ricks regulator, 8 cell Anti Gravity battery,

No, but I know moms. Mine caught me when I forty years old, LOL.
I rode dirt bikes when I was in my teens and twenties and she didn't mind so when I got into street bikes I didn't want to worry her.
Whenever I rode to visit my parents, then went home, I had to call her and let her know I was ok or she couldn't get to sleep. To this day! And I'm sixty, LOL. Love my mom.

Haha yes I know exactly what you're talking about! My grandma and my mom both! Doesn't make it any better that my mom rode this same bike with my dad when he was in his early 20s. I think of them both everytime I ride it. My dad would never forgive himself for letting me have it if I ever got hurt. He doesn't show it but he probably worries more.
