I have an 82 750 four that I turned into a 70's style chopper. None of the work is really all that difficult given you have the right tools and good material to do the work. That's very important, the right tools (good welder, frame jig, levels, dom tubing) I ran pods on stock jets for a solid year with no ill effects. Colder days I had to keep the choke on a bit. Been jetted now for a year and I really couldn't tell a difference in rideability. I'm sure its probably climate dependent on whether the bike would be ok or not, but they're only 25 bucks so might as well try if you like the look. You can't hardly see a movie for that anymore.
