Picked up this 1987 ZG1000 with 98,000 miles a while back.

[img

Little cleanup and service stuff and rode it a little like this.
[img

I then picked up a 1993 model with 33,000 miles as a no paper parts bike.
Last tagged in 08 parked for a head gasket issue. I cleaned it up some fix'd
the t-stat housing o-ring's and it's a jam up running motor.

Dave I am starting to wonder if you OWN the storage facility you build your bikes out of!?! Where do you put all of the?!?

I always wondered what naked C10 would look like and I have to say it has potential....

The way the C10 fairing is, it isn't protected from debris anyway. Most full fairing bike aren't.

Hadn't messed with the connie in over a year been
just setting in the corner so time to get my ass in gear
and build me a bike I can ride half way across Tx. on a tank of gas.

Since I had no papers on the 33,000 mile '93 I had stripped and boxed
every thing but the main frame so now it's time to clean and paint each piece
from it and put them on the 93,000 mile '87 frame so
pulled the motor and loaded it and hit the car wash.
[img

[img

[img

Main frame cleaned and painted.
[img

[img

Next got the '93 model motor with 33,000 miles and cleaned it up a little.
Before pic.

After.
[img

[img

From this point every thing that go's back on will be from the '93.
Motor back in with the cleaned and painted swing arm and rear drive.
[img
[img

Few box of baking soda the rear wheel cleaned up nice still need to re polish the
edge's.

And thats were I'm it right now.

I made about 65,000 miles worth of good memories on a 92 and several thousand more on a 97. Yes, I am really fond of them.

some nice scores there and being able to piece a good one together is kickass.
i wouldn't mind adding one to my hoard.
seeing it naked with the round headlight made me think a zx14 front end with an 83 gpz1100 fairing would look pretty cool.
especially with one of the lower fairing kits.

keep us posted,

leon

p.s. or maybe just the fairing and front fender from a gpz hmmm lol....

The good part about this build is I already have two of every piece
other then lower fairings so I don't have to go hunting parts and spending money.

I've actually had the bikes for a couple years I traded a beater 84 Venture Royal
for the red 87 and then gave $200 for the 93 parts bike so I'm riding in the cheap seat
so far but the money part is fixxin to start.

To do list.
1. Tires
2. Rebuild forks. (Two set's one polished one black)
3. Rebuild brakes and braided lines for rear brake and clutch. (Have front now)
4. Find lower fairing's and fix the better of the two upper's I've got.
5. Sent the Corbin seat to them for a recover ( have a nice stock seat)
6. Lots of little shit I forgot to do.
7. Paint I'm thinking that cool red on the 2015 Ford Fusion

Got a little more done broke down the rear sub frame for clean and paint.
Turn's out the sub frame is alum. I may just blast it and leave it bare with
some clear coat.
[IMG

Still need to clean the hardware but got the rear susp. back in so it's on wheel's again.
