Looking great on yours.davido wrote: Im sure other people have posted about it here but Im done trawling through the archive .Too many hours have been eaten up doing that already.If someone can point me to a specific build that would be great,otherwise Im just having a go at it. This is the build that inspired me;

But they have others for different price range. The piggyback ones are very nice but out of my budget.

The problem is,its in a very awkward place (of course) and I cant get the drill onto it. I bought and extra long one yesterday and if I pull the
generator cover off,I hope to be able to get at it. Could someone do me a favour and get out the verniers. I need to know how deep the hole should be. I dont want to drill through into the crankcase.
Its the hole at the end of my finger.Top left.
Thanks in advance

If the other (known) measurements add up with yours then it should be good enough.
Thanks

Did the screw/bolt come out intact?
If yes, just the female threads in the casting are buggered up?
If no, you already got the broken screw/bolt out?
The hole is now filled with epoxy?
In each hole, you do not want to make the hole a little larger, tap and use next size up mm larger diameter screw/bolt?
You want to drill and tap the epoxy and left over aluminum with the same size tap and not cut into much of the aluminum casting, using the epoxy to repair threads?
Or you want to run a helicoil type insert in an overbored/tapped hole?
