I finally got going on my Kz1000 Superbike project. Its been apart since back in 1985!!!! I have been unpacking boxes for over a week now. Its better than Christmas morning with all the neat stuff I have been finding all packed away. I can't find the parts I should have, but are finding parts I didn't even know I had.

Looks like the motor will be a Yoshimura 1105, The cams go from big, bigger, bigger still, and biggest!!! Think I am going to start off with "bigger still" All I got left in carbs are a set of 33CR's. So that means the head with big valves to go with those carbs. That should be a nice little street motor. Its kickstart only too. Saves a lot of weight without all that starter stuff on the bike. Bassani Superbike pipe with a "street" baffle!!

So far the only real problem I have so far is finding a wiring diagram for the Dyna III ignition with the Dyna rev limiter and Andrews blue coils. I think I got the rest of my wiring harness figured out where it was routed. And what goes where.

Installing motor mounts and bolts first.

Most of the little parts for the chassis (I hope)

Most of the internal motor parts along with cams.

My Bassani Superbike pipe with street baffle in place.

Like Doug Wolfgang used to say, "We're digging" Just hope its a long time to Spring!!!

Found the info for you on the Dyna 3. Just use Google search and enter dyna 3 wiring diagram. www.mpsracing.com makes it available for download. It's a PDF so I can't post it here for you. You can PM me your ail address and I can send it to you.

Finished up all my fancy motor mount plates and bolts. Been working on where all my wiring goes to, and finishing up the handlebar switches. Been working on mounting up my S1 road race tach to my homemade gauge bracket. I mounted my Dyna rev box to my carb shield. Now just got to find a nice cool place to mount the spark box. I got to figure out a way to mount my rear master cylinder because the S1 rearset plate will have to be replaced with a smaller one because it hits my upswept Bassani pipe. Its one thing after another on this bike. Plus I am missing a few parts I know I have for the rearsets, but can't seem to find them after 30 years of being apart!!!!!

Did a weekend thrash on the Kz. Got my shifter side all worked out. It came out pretty clean looking I think. It still shifts 1 down and 4 up too!! Now my brake side is turning into a nightmare!!!! My Bassani pipe just has too much upsweep to it to use the stock KZ1000S1 rearset bracket. Well its back to the drawing board on that side. Got to come up with a whole new way for the feetpeg bracket, and brake lever setup. Its back to the cardboard cutouts, and staring at it to come up with a another plan of attack.

The oil cooler is now mounted in rubber just like Uncle Rob did on the Kawasaki Superbikes. If its good enough for Muzzy, its good enough for me!!! I was really think about putting the oil cooler back on the tail section just like I had it when I first put the bike together back in '79!!

Thanks to kaw-a-holic, I got my wiring diagrams for my Dyna units. So the wiring is almost finished. Almost!! Still got to wire in RH handlebar switch. Can't wait to fire that puppy up with the Bassani pipe and that baffle. That ought to rattle the windows a bit!!!
