slick setup!
should give miles of trouble free service.
did you weld the two tabs on your frame that you then bolted your controls to?

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with the results. I made everything from scratch, but the swivel rod ends, so I wouldn't destroy my oe parts. I did weld on tabs and then bolted on the controls. I thought it would be best for any future maintenance.

not a fan of the heal to shifters but i can admire the fact that you took the time to build one and it seems to have come out pretty nice. may i make the suggestion that, however, to weld in a cross tube where you cut the seat tubes off. since that where the shocks mount wouldnt hurt to have a little extra support since you cut out tubing that linked the sides behind the shock mounts

That's a good suggestion. I'll put a cross bar in when I mount my tool tray. It's nice when you've got a tig welder so you don't have to worry about all the weld splatter.

Here's some close up pics of my forward controls by request. Note: the gear shift attachment is not splined, but I am having a buddy machinist make me a correct spline one for a permanent replacement. The one I made is working well. When on a 100 mile ride yesterday and loved my new forward controls.

tnb sounds like you have your shifter and the spline deal lined out.
i have a buell blast that i molested, and the shifter on it just has a little round slug that has the splines cut into it,and a clamping slit.it then fits inside the lever which pinches it.i cut it off and used it to build my lever for my forward controls.it has never slipped and i thought that it would be easy for some one to take a stock lever and trim it down to where you mount it on a spud and turn the outside of it round then make your lever have hole and pinch bolt to do the same thing in any custom application.
just another way to skin a cat.
cool little trick i thought.

Great idea, hope it help the guys asking questions. I've seen guys use their shifter pegs, too. They just cut them off and drill a hole to connect their rod end. The same with the spline brake petals. Here's a couple pics.

Final finished my tool box. At 3" deep, I've got lots of room for my tools and maybe my Frog Toggs. I've felt very much out on a limb, without my tools.
