Here's a good place to get metric stainless or chrome bolts to dress things up:

can you get a picture of the front down tubes showing how the front down tubes are overlayed with some more tubing that has been split and welded on.i have wanted to show the guys that,because it could be added into other non z1r frames when they stiffen them up with gussets.powder looks good.i know what you mean about getting one part re-done and then not wanting to put grubby pieces back next to it.keep us posted,

That freshly powdered frame sure is a familiar sight! Spend as much time as you can on it and do it right, if not you will regret it and end up redoing it anyway.

As far as price to powder a frame; I think mine was about $150 to sandblast and powdercoat it. I'm not exactly sure because I did a bunch of other parts at the same time and he never really told me what he charged for each piece.

If you want to prevent scratches when installing the engine,rags and heavy layers of tape help a lot.

Also keep in mind that powder coating is an insulator, so take a tap (M6x1.0) and clean out the many holes where ground wires will go.

The Negative(-) battery terminal post will connect to the engine mounting bolt, I'd say remove the powder coating in this area down to bare metal and to prevent rusting, use a very thin coat of the silver anti-seize.

I use anti-seize on axles and bolts I plan on removing in the future.

to have the frame and all the other parts blasted and coated it cost $230. i was pleasantly surprised. thats not bad.

Shoot man i just realized you wanted me to take a picture of something.

Well here is where i am now. got some stuff back on.

I wanted to get the rear wheel painted and back on so i can have a roller but ran into a little problem.




Thats two bolts broke off. drilled the one that was broke off closest to the wheel and i just cant get it out. i doubt it has ever been off before. just look at the rear rotor.



So i dont know. maybe somebody has an idea?

Soak with "PB Blaster"!
Heat with a hand held propane torch, soak again.
Be patient! Let soak overnight.
If you have to, use a drill press and drill out and heli-coil them.
