Did your spring on your mono shock in this pic come that color? If I were to unscrew the retainer rings (bolts) to separate spring from shock in order to paint how or what would I need to be able to get it back together? What type of paint would be best for this application? Any draw backs to powder coating other than cost?
no scooter it came this colour but im sure it could be done, dont try and do it without a spring compressor though and powder coat is the best way to go as it is plastic and will not wear awat with compression and flex.

Of course, had I offset the swingarm to the right more, I could have cut down on the sprocket offset needed, but I'm happy with the fact that I can get away with an off the shelf PMFR 7/8" offset. WAY cheaper than $400 for a custom offset

Not even close to rubbing the frame, but that has more to do with widening the frame 1.5" for the swingarm than my skill at fitting big things into small spaces  I also don't have the normal situation where the sprocket is bolted to the wheel, and with the 180 tire there is loads of room for the chain. See?

oh wow!!! thats crazy cool!! thank god i didnt have to go that far, the 20 hrs i pit into the fab and welding of the frame was enough but awesome work mate!!

I was thinking about drilling a hole and putting a bolt through with a (BIG)nut on the back side, then tacking the nut to the frame, remove plate and then finish weld. i would think i should have the nut just off the frame , then build up weld to the nut. this might allow for a bit of miss alignment if i dont get the hole in the perfect spot. i would not like to have to elongate the hole to accommodate the nut being slightly off.
is there any way i can use my grinder for this task?:silly:
