I'm curious what forks you used, how long they are and how much it dropped your front end. Your build is comming along nicely B)

Looks pretty good so far. Just one question, what thickness is the bar stock used in the bracing of the backbone?

yes larry the forks are in total around 3' shorter than stock with the wheel on and yes there is a dip in the front but a low front and a highish rear is the way a classic streetfighter should look, well in my eyes anyways i suppose?
and doug the bar stock i used was 1" by 1/5" i cut each section and the put an angle on to insure a snug fit as with all the tube stock and square bar i used was knotched to make everything hug nice before welding, and as i had to knotch everything with a grinder it was a long job :S.

OK, I just didn't want it to be too thin and then flex on you. Thin stuff is fine in tension but sucks in compression.

As far as notching with a grinder, that how I did all my bracing on my 900. I've added 11 braces to my frame; all notched by a bench grinder. Grind, test fit, grind some more, test fit again, etc.

Thanks for the info, I wonder if by any chance you know the distance between the floor and the bottom of your lower frame tubes? Is your valve cover painted, powdercoated or anodized? What are you planning to do next?

I have a knotcher, but I didn't find the right diameter hole saw due to the fact that the tubing is metric and the holes saws are imperial. You can get something close but you'll probably still have to do some fitting with the grinder.

I didn't realize it until I checked just now and you can get metric hole saws through McMaster-Carr for a reasonable $$. D'OH!!
