right on!
it is your bike,chop away!
just make sure to show us the pictures.if they don't like the fact that you chopped it up and built your vision they don't have to look.they can't all be saved as pristine examples of a stock bike.if you keep it stock what do you have?a stock bike just like the rest of the stock bikes.
oh yeah STOCK SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
thats my .02 .
it is amazing how much faster they seem all stripped down.
are you going the captured swingarm route,or fabbing a whole rear rigid section?
here is a captured swingarm 750twin that i really like,it looks tuff.

and here is wompy's 650 with a custom built hardtail.

so do what you do,and keep us posted there are some folks that dig what you are doing and are happy to see someone step out of the box and build what they want.

It is going to be a custom fabbed hardtail section. I am hoping that it comes out similar to Wompy's - maybe a little higher sissy bar, and a different color.

Answer: a bike you can ride. Unlike a bike that doesn't even have a chain (see pic of wompy's 650)

531blackbanshee, that 750 twin is TITS! I haven't been a fan of choppers, bobbers, or hardtails in general. I think that I suffer from OCC overload, but I think that metric choppers are growing on me. Me Gusta!

The rim has a notation on it that it is made by Suzuki. I still don't know what model it is off of, but I am sticking with an old-school rear drum brake.
