here is a new race bend in black.

Yea I sold my "KR series" racing version...no center stand or oil filter access but maximum cornering clearance.

Funny you should post that picture...I asked that seller if that is a picture of the the actual pipe and he told me it was just a stock photo and the one for the KZ would look different...I think all he has are the street versions. I got all excited when I saw the photo of what appeared to be a race version.

Here's the pipe I sold...and miss already.. :(

Wow! I hope that thing is a drag bike. Those carbs on the front motor would be on a full boil by the time the back motor got warmed up. I wish we could see the other side. I'd like to know how they have the final drive arranged.

Wouldn't that be an outrageous looking ride? A duel engined Kz would be unique! Or a SSSA on that Triumph would be another one of a kind. Some day when I have more money AND time, I'll look into it

I put in a small order with Z1E today, and Jeff and I had a nice long chat about the old dinosaurs we ride, laws and regulations (or lack thereof) regarding composite fuel tanks on motorcycles, and the weather, of all things.

I don't want this project to take another year to finish. So, I have decided on a series of compromises to fast track my bike back to a roadworthy status. Since the cost of doing my cylinder head the way I would have liked was going to set me back an additional $1300, that was the first cut. I was also going to have my tranny backcut.......scrapped that idea and saved another $600. I also wanted a Z1 crank...scrapped that too. So with those compromises and the parts I just ordered, I can assemble the lower end. My cylinder has already been done for a while and my rings are gapped. I need to look over the timing chain idler components and replace anything thats worn out. I purchased a lightly used cylinder head off a MKII that had been rebuilt with SS intake valves and new guides. I'll replace the valve guide seals and clean up the intake and exhaust ports. I'll probably spend another $200 in parts/bolts/supplies to get the engine back together and thats it. It'll look pretty and it'll perform a little better than stock. My plan is to have her back together this spring. With a little luck, it shouldn't be too difficulty.

I thought the MKII had the "bathtub" cylinder heads? Was your engine an MKII? If not, why did you choose an MKII head?

I thought the MKII heads were identical to the standard 1000 heads. I only got it because it was available, recently rebuilt, and not too expensive. The fact that it came off a MKII engine doesn't mean much to me, unless the MKII cams have a different profile than the earlier 1000 cams. Otherwise I'll just throw my old cams back in..... or swap sprockets. I'll still have my nice and clean original head to send off for a proper rebuild when funds allow. If I start taking too long to finish this bike, it won't get finished. I have too many irons in the fire just with the bike, and the wish list needed some realistic trimming. The carbon bodywork and tank still have quite a bit of R&D left; and I have an obligation for a complete set of bodywork to Leon and Irishwill. Even for cost and times sake, I am going to eliminate the titanium undertail muffler in favor of a cheaper and easier aluminum piece. That way I can make it faster, and when I screw it up (I know I will), it won't cost me a fortune to replace
