The right side rearset bracket #2 out of 1/2" plate. It is shown next to bracket #1 on the left which is 3/8"

Here is the bracket bolted to the frame with the rearset. This one looks much better. I will contour it a bit more, but this is close to finished. I just need to drill a hole in the bottom for the lower rearset mount. Then I can turn my attention to the left side rearset and bracket

Well done. They look great.
I really like the part about using a grinder. Very MANLY indeed. I use 1 for my fingernails.:P

This should drive you nuts a bit more Mark  Using a 4 1/2" grinder, a drill press, a file, a jig saw AND a crappy milling machine I was able to make right side rearset bracket #2 out of 1/2" plate. It is shown next to bracket #1 on the left

Hey, somebody took a bite out of my porkchop! Looks good. Have you tried standing on them yet? Cutting aluminum with the jigsaw is fun, isn't it? I bet if you tried to mimic that big chamfer on the inside of the R6 rearset, then nobody would know that you made the adapters yourself.

hey i got a low buck drill press and sanding drum tech.
your bracket is looking good.
if you get(or make) a bolt or pin that will fit in the holes on your bracket, then you can grab the pin in the drill press vise sticking up so that you can pivot the bracket by hand around the pin.then put a sanding drum(or maybe something more aggressive, carbide burr or end mill perhaps)in the drill press and set the vise up so that the material is just touching the drum(while being mindfull of the rotation,so as to not get sucked in)on the side that is closest to the hole(the area with the thinnest material area)then you can turn the drill press on and slowly start feeding the material in to the drum by pivoting the material around the pin,and create perfectly radiused corners that are concentric with the bolt holes.i do this on my mill when i need some nice corners but don't want to set up the rotary table.
hope this makes sense.

Clear as a bell Leon. Thanks for the tip, I'll see if I can impliment it on the left side B)

Great idea Josh, I'll try and figure out how to put the chamfer in symetrically  I can just see Mark out in the garage with an angle grinder in his lap clearancing his fingernails  You're more of a man than I am Mark. I got into a fight with my angle grinder once, and I walked away with 16 stitches (I lost), so more power to ya B)

I think that an angle grinder is second only to a chainsaw in danger to the user. It can hurt you in soo many ways. I um, set my shirt on fire with mine.

I kick myself for being too cheap to buy a grinder with a momentary on switch. In hindsight, it would have been much cheaper than the e.r. bill.
Its a good thing I don't normally use a chainsaw in my day to day fabrication

I have been slacking a bit on my project. Kids, fights with some new neighbors and lack of funding have prevented any signifigant update. I have been working on my rearset adapter brackets here and there though. These are the adapter brackets from paper template through mostly completed part

Here is the quasi complete adapter bracket mounted on the left rearset. I say quasi complete because I still plan to bevel the radius to match the R6 rearset like testerossa suggested. Great idea Josh!
