So dcmspikes might be coming up Saturday to lend some enthusiasm and a helping hand. With my offset sprocket showing up tomorrow, my plan this weekend is to fit the outboard bearing support, weld the bearing support lugs on to the frame, weld the subframe tabs for the carbon shield and then strip the frame and prep it for paint. I doubt I'll do any paint prep, but I would like to get all the welding done and the frame stripped bare.

Those damn lines!!!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: My D&G sprocket showed up today! It looks so big compared to the PMFR sprocket, but its an 18 tooth vs the PMFR 17 tooth.

Interestingly enough, the new D&G sprocket mounts the bearing support plate a tiny bit closer to the engine than the PMFR part. I know Doug was trying to keep it close to aid in making the clutch parts work, and keep it close he did. Sitting on the output shaft with the bearing support spud in:

The bearing support plate in place profile:

With the bearing support plate plan view:

Now, I have to massage the bearing support plate, to be able to rotate it clockwise ever so slightly. My frame mods have taken their toll on how things fit up

Nice to see things r working out.
i'm at the same spot with my support plate. i am going hydro though. so i need to take the plate to a machine shop and have the actuator hole enlarged to fit the zx7 clutch slave, then re-drill and tap new bolt hole locations for the slave. i just seem to have too many other things getting in my way.

The sprocket is a custom offset, so I guess it is a one off. The support plate was made in a small production batch by another member hear, but it must be modified to fit my modded frame is all. Unless you were refering to another one off part?

Thanks to dcmspikes for coming up yesterday and helping make and weld the subframe panel tabs. I definitely needed the extra 2 hands and he was nice enough to cut and shape the tabs for me. In the chaos we also made a quick mould of his starter cover. Not my best work, but it'll work (I hope). We made a quick part out of the mould but I screwed up the resin ratio and the corners where the resin was a bit thicker were full of foamed resin. such a waste of material, but oh well. I sent the mould with Josh (dcmspikes) so that he could try his hand at making the cover. Good luck Josh!!
