I am trying to figure out how to get the kickstarter employed, just because I want the old school deal on there.

Due to the rearsets, the kickstarter will need to have a real funky bend in it. A buddie of mine has a CR 250 kickstarter, he says the spline and shaft Diameter look the same, so it may be an aluminum one.

The steel kickstarter from the stock KZ must weigh in at 8 pounds.

After trying to get everything perfect for 8 years, I am now just trying to get the thing started (again) I had it running once then tore it down for the frame powder coating, and all the other odds and ends that have been added since then.

If you look at the avitar/icon I use that was the bike in the mock up stage, all assembled and the engine was running. Then I tore it all down again.

Today I found this scrap of aluminum extrusion, which has the "finning" so I hogged a pocket it it, for a battery tray.

It must be helpful to have cool scraps like that laying around. I am interested in the performance of that battery you got. If it works well, I'll use on on my little build. It would be easier to fit, and use less material in the batery box construction.

That's a major benefit of working in a machine shop. That extrusion would cost you an arm and a leg, but when it's in the scrap bin it's usually free. I used cutoffs for all of the bushings that I had to make for my swingarm, steering stem, etc.

So Ted, have you got that Dyna yet? It seems like that's the last piece of the puzzle, no?
