Man-o-MAN - I wish my '79 looked that good! Very nice score.

You mentioned it had no title - how does one deal with that, or is it hopeless (never be able to register it, in other words)?

It depends on your state. You need to go to your local Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) office and find out what needs to be done.

If there is a lien on the title, you may not be able to apply for a title until after so much time has passed. I know with the 75 Z1 that I am looking to buy, the husband was the owner on the title. Therefore I need a certificate of death, a will that states his wife took ownership, and she has to sign the title.

It's a PIA and expect a long boring day at the DMV and numerous phone calls back and forth.

Yeah, I soaked a rag in windex and just wiped it down.

I REALLY NEED YOUR ADVICE GUYS!!!

I am pretty strapped for cash right now and I bought this bike knowing that I could turn it for some quick profit. So here is me question: If I can get it running and am able to get a title for it, about how much would it be worth in it's current condition? Or would it be worth more in parts value? I hate the idea of parting this girl out, but mt three kiddos gotta eat. I really appreciate any help!

I also bought a 1981 suzuki GS1100E from the same guy if anybody is real interested. Also very clean.

"Z1F-25293"

Z1F-25293 was also imprinted onto the frame.

So is this a 73 or 74?

It's a '74.
Frame numbers in '74 started with 20001 and went to 47499. That means that about 27,500 bikes were produced, and yours is the 5,293rd of that production run.

Hard to guess what it worth... Who ever buys your bike will definitely give it a good home.

The pipes alone MIGHT bring $750.00 or more.
The bike WITHOUT the pipes...maybe $1500.00 +
The extra tank and tails... maybe $250.00 or more for all the parts.
This is based on watching ebay prices. But with ebay, Lord only knows how the auction will go... It might not bring $500.00 for all or go for $5000.00. People on ebay are crazy.
Either way you got one HELL of a deal;)
Good luck with whatever you decide. But remember the guys on here might make you a solid FAIR offer for it.
With NO auction listing cost to you:whistle:

1974 900 Z1 modified to look like a LTD , some engine mods. But I still have all the original parts.
1977 1000 project bike
1972 H1 project bike
If pro is opposite of con, then what is the opposite of progress?
