Much better ride in the rear now!!!! Raised the rear slightly , the new shocks are 13.25" eye to eye and the old one's were 13". It'll be lowered again whenever I decide to swap the swingarm. I also decided to start sanding down the tail a little. The last paint job was super thick and sloppy and I could see flames beneath it. Looks like it's been painted a few different times!!

I am over here in Valparaiso, and hopefully will have my 77 650 running by late spring. I am game for an Indiana get-together...
If there is anyone in Indiana close to me that knows how to synch my carbs, I would love to get some help other than paying a shop. They have been totally rebuilt by someone that knows their stuff, but when we fixed a gas overflow problem, it wont run now.
Anyway, sorry to rant about my bike...
Voodoosoup, yous is looking great!

VooDoosoup, You were able to get that rusty advance mechanism working? Man it looked pretty bad in that picture. Good work!
Amazingly yes!! I cleaned it up and got it working pretty smoothly.
I have another whole timing plate and advancer that I got off of ebay.
It almost looks brand new compared to mine. I just need to swap my points etc. and re-time. Maybe I'll do that tomorrow. I just finished cleaning the contacts on my starter button. It was totally black where it was supposed to be making contact. It actually works now!!

Nice looking bike, and a great find!

Thanks!
I'm still game for an Indiana get together. It would be nice to meet some of the other members.
Have your carbs had a basic bench sync done to them?
It should run with just that.

They did before it ran, but once I tried to fix the gas leak, it hasn't run since. I am pretty sure a bench synch would do the trick, but I have no experience getting it dialed in like that...
I will probably have to resort to a shop in a month or two, unless there is someone close who can help
