When I replaced the bushings in my 650 swingarm, they didnt have a listing so they gave me a bearing kit for a 900 swingarm. All I had to do was mill it down some, it was too long. Other then that the bearings pressed right in no problems.

Thanks for the info. Im not really going for a sleeper, just something you wouldn't expect from a 650. It has a few aftermarket items like a viper fairing, pods, clubman cafe racer bars, and a chrome MAC 4-1 pipe. (getting the 810 kit this spring using the 750 jugs, and doing some head work
) I was reading through the archives today about the gs1100 arm. Is it any longer than the KZ arm, or is the only reason for going with it the weight savings over a steel arm? Or can it hold a wider tire? thx

yes it is ,but i had to change my name to wireman for now!witness relocation, fcc thing!haha i screwed my password up so now im the new improved wireman!anyway the 900/1000 swingarm will bolt on using the stock parts no extra shimming.you can use the 900 arm if you want to keep drum brake, but most 900 swingarms have bushings instead of bearings but you can have them line-bored and install the bearings!1000s have the needle bearings but youll have to make a bracket for the master cylinder.good luck, happy wrenching!

You can get a pretty good measurment by lining up the chain. Put the new wheel and rear sprocket on. Run the chain as straight as you can. It helps to have someone help with this. One person hold the chain and the other take a few measurments to make sure it is straight. This also helps to make sure that after adding the new front sprocket that the chain will not rub against anything. I had to clearence my frame a little to clear the chain. My swingarm is wider than a GS swingarm so I don't think you sould have any trouble. You might think about doing a chain conversion while you are at it. Going to a 520 chain saves weight and will actually get more HP to the wheel since the motor is having to work less hard to move the chain. 520 are also less expensive since they are more common now on bikes. If that is something you want to do then now is the time to do it before you spend $80 on a front sprocket only to find out later that you want a lighter and stronger chain.

It´s a GSXR1100 swing so it´s pretty long. But it´s easy to cut off 40mm (max to fit in a 180 tire). I will also move shock mounts 20-30mm to slightly lift the rear of the bike. We´ll see, it´s a long winter ahead....

Can anyone post a link of where to find offset sprockets so I can run a 180 tire on my Z1 900? I have GS 1100 E swing arm- I am still looking for parts to mock this up- and I would like to actually have an offset sprocket or three on stock way up here!

do you have a GSX/R 1100 swingarm ?
Use one from a GSX/R 750,it`s much shorter (and cheaper than the ZRX part).
