No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationThis is what I'm talking about.....absolutely mind boggling!!
A regular old GS swingarm just went for $345!! I literally couldn't get $50 for the same arm last year. WTF is going on???

just found your intro thread.
what would be wrong with cutting the ends off your current swingarm and welding in ends that match the wheel you want to use?
then just weld some shock mounts on for dual shocks and your set.
i added in extended ends in dougs old gsxr swingarm.here is the thread,

welcome.
ew,
rough call on anything close to bolt in to fit that wheel. :pinch:
then you wanna throw dual shocks in there :woohoo: .
your best bet (imho sir) is going to be try to match your axle size up with a early ninties gsxr or 03/04 zx636.
or give yor dimensions to someone that can custom build you whatever you want  .

I am a professional house painter, run my own business and I'm married. I got two boys of 12 and 14. They both make music, piano and guitar and both are practicing Tae Kwon Do black belt. I'm the bass player in a rock &roll band and I like to make some noise on my bass or with my bike
Bike spec's:

KZ1000J1 motor 1981
CBR SC28 front forks/wheel/caliper/disc 1992
GSX1100EF swing arm/wheel/caliper/disc 1986
Diversion XJ600 foot rests 1993
Marving 4-1 without silencer
Dyna ignition/coils
Dyno jetted carbs
K&N clean air filters
Tomasseli handle bar
Custom cable tree
Soon to be done:
Honda or Suzuki swing arm
Rear wheel (to meet the front wheel)
Seat (Café race)
Gel battery small size
Clip-ons
Hydraulic clutch
Brembo front break an clutch master cilinder
Paint job
A lot of work but it's gonna be fun to do
Cheers

Picked up a '78 kz1000 this spring. It was in the project stage when I bought it  . The PO sretched the swing arm 6", striped the frame and tank of paint, cleaned up a few things, and started a drag bike mock up.
My plans are mod. suspension (USD and mono shock) 17" wheels and a one off paint job. This summer I was able to pick up a '95 GSXR 750 chassis.
Going to start this project over the winter months.
The pics are as I bougth the bike. Don't worry, I got 2 other back up plans,so I still got lots of riding in this summer.

the 636 swingarm doesn't just bolt right up.
until i get through with it  .
it has to have some milled off each side, the center tube shortened and some top hat style bushings machined.
running dual shock on the 636 arm complicates things, but is do able.
i am currently in the middle of a zx636 to kz700 swingarm conversion with dual shocks.the caliper bracket has to be modified to rotate it further back to make room for the shock bracket and shock.
and then weld the mounts on.
gonna take some machine work to get the 636 wheel and calipers to fit in the stock frontend.
hth,

quick update, waiting for my chain to arrive to figure out alignment issue. I have my sprockets cut up and ready to weld at whatever offset I need up to .80". I have also done some trimming on the GSXR front fender to make it look like it fits my idea of what I want. I have to shock mount tacked in but still need to make reinforcements. Found some rearsets locally on craigslist for $25 complete!! Actually came with a lot of other parts, swingarm, axles, etc. Anyone want a swingarm off a 2002 CBR600f4i? lol. Pics coming in the next couple days!

I have the 1976 KZ900. I think I found a 1981 GS1100 swingarm and Kerker 4 into 1 header.
My question is, what LTD rims are needed??
1. Should I go with the 1000 LTD rims on front and back? (Captain Z is running a 160 rear tire?)
LTD rims r 16" so unless u want the low rear look, u may want an18" rim from the other kx modles.
2. Will I have speedo problems?
unless u change the front wheel diameter then yes u will have a read error.
3. "Sprockets" Are they interchangable and what do I need?
if u stay with a 630 chain this should not matter. just get the right sprocket for the donor wheel.
4. Will the dual calipers mount to my stock single caliper forks?
yes , both of your forks should have caliper mounting tabs. if u swap the forks to the oposite side, u can mount the cals behind the forks. i think it looks better that way. jmo.
5. Anyone seen this Captain Z bike? I'd like to see how the caliper was mounted to the rear swingarm.
No i have not.
hope this helps.

P.S. I seen a bracket for sale not long ago on ebay. You could remove the rear fender and mount the tail light and licence plate to this bracket up under the duck bill, but I can't seem to find them now?
