Looks like a lot of stress members on a single M4 screw and the weak carb top end body! Just my 2 cent...

Sounds like a solution to a problem that doesn't exist, never had a problem in the 40 plus years of owning these bikes.

Now if you plan on doing motocross on your Z1 it might be a great idea!

I am guessing you're not familiar with UK roads (where Warren lives)

No Sir, never been to the UK but I did hit a chuck hole years ago nearly caused me to crash and bent my front Morris mag wheel but my carbs didn't fall off.................

Our roads are pretty shit and when they do fix em it's seems only temporary and the potholes back again 6 months later only twice the size.
In truth the problem with carb bounce is only a problem when using aftermarket carb to head rubbers and no airbox to help support the rack.
The after market rubbers are very soft compared to oem and because they are so soft carb bounce is exasperated and causes them to split at the tube to head mount plate joint.
Those straps are made of stainless and lock the rack solid.

I used a zip-tie for support from the frame.

I used a "Tarp Strap" across the frame. 15 inches of a fairly substantial rubber with metal hook at each end which held the bar to which the carbs are bolted. See Amazon for pics.

You can find them in hardware, outdoor auto type stores.

I did have cracked rubbers but they were probably the originals and would have been maybe 25 or 30 years old at that time.

eventuall got an airbox
