Hi, I have a 1995 KZ1000P with a very tired motor. I also have a 1995 GPZ1100 motor and 6 speed transmission which on paper look to be a good swap into the KZ. Anyone foresee any issues with swapping out my tired 1000J and 5 speed for the GPZ 1100 and 6 speed? Many thanks, Matt

The 95 1000P is air cooled and the 96 GPZ11 is water cooled.
There's virtually no common motor parts except a few bolts etc .
It isn't a straight swap and will need many electrical and mounting mods to fit as well as the radiator..
Unless you are skilled and can do the work yourself it would probably be cheaper to overhaul the 1000P engine.

The only thing I would add is - will the port spacing allow the exhaust headers to clear the frame down tubes ?  is there physically space for a radiator or will you need to switch to a 17" wheel etc ? and finally are you planning to upgrade the brakes/suspension and brace the frame to be able to cope with 150mph + performance ?
